Allow me to introduce... PaperWoodVintage! (contest)

Kristy and her husband, who run the PaperWoodVintage store on Etsy, came up with their shop's name by simply stating the types of items you will find there... paper, wood and vintage.

Cute Owl Stationary Set, ($5)
Their delightful Etsy shop is filled with old things made new, creative and cute stationary, and random little odds and ends.

While her husband works full time, Kristy stays home and creates, sometimes with the help of their five children, aged 21, 13, 12, nine and three. She says that some of her favorite items in the store are repurposed vintage items. She loves "giving them new life" like "making a pair of pewter candlesticks new again by painting them apple green."

Vintage Pewter Candlesticks Apple Green, ($19.50)
Each page on the PaperWoodStore store is full of color and life. Kristy says that she loves bright and bold colors, which is reflected by her home. "I am a bold color person," she says. "My rooms in my house are bold. We have a turquoise bathroom, an orange bathroom, a red kitchen, and so on. The world needs bold colors!"

Find items in the store in many price ranges, from sweet greeting cards for just $2, to your very own cigar box guitar, custom made by Kristy's husband.

When she's not busy being artistic, Kristy enjoys gardening, going to yard sales, searching for treasures at thrift stores, spending time with her family and being active in her church.

Summer Picnic - Etsy Style!

There are only 55 more days of summer (not that I'm counting or anything). Get out there and enjoy the sunshine before Fall sneaks up on you and it's too late!

One of my favorite activities on a warm summer day is heading out to the park for a picnic. Before you go, though, check out these fun picnic-inspired Etsy finds:

Reusable Sandwich Baggie by ciliciahomeandhearth

Adorable, reusable (good for Mother Earth) and only $6.50!

Lemon Meringue Quilted Picnic Blanket by KazamCreations

For when sitting on an old sheet just won't do. This adorable blanket (along with several other patterns in KazamCreations's store) will add a little color to your picnic.

Vintage Summer Picnic Tote by edababe

I love the idea of a vintage-y picnic basket, but they can be so awkward and hard to carry. Trade in your old basket for a roomy summer-print tote. When you're not picnicking, use it to carry your gym clothes, school books, just about anything. Bonus!

First Featured Item!!!

In honor of the ABSOLUTE MADNESS surrounding the release of the final Harry Potter movie (I've seen it twice already ::nerd::), for our very first featured item, I bring to you, Harry Potter Themed Refrigerator Magnets, from the shop of TheDContinuium.

Imagine yourself staring at the outside of your refrigerator instead of gazing endlessly inside trying to decide what to eat. Take turns (with your spouse, roommate, mom?) making silly sentences in your kitchen.

Harry Potter not your taste? Maybe the Star Trek: The Original Series, The Lord of the Rings, or Star Wars themed refrigerator magnets are more your speed.

At just $12 a set, it's easy (and cheap) to partake in some nerdy fun!

Welcome to Live, Love, Etsy!

This is me!
There's really nothing like the first post on a new blog. Everything is fresh and new and the possibilities are endless!

Much to my dear husband's discontent, I often lament that I could spend all of my free time (not to mention my money) on Etsy. I can literally spend hours browsing through all of the adorable, creative and downright amazing creations that people have made.

Now, whenever I find something wonderful, I will share it with you all on Live, Love, Esty!

Each week, I will feature a new Etsy shop and introduce you to the mind behind the art. In between, check back to peek at some of my favorite Etsy finds!

Check back soon!

Love,
Kelsie
